Situation:
When constructing a water filtration system, many parts are key to the product as a whole. The project is split up into two sections. I am creating the structure of the filtration system while my partner is creating the actual filtration system.Points to keep in mind when designing the structure:
- material of structure
- is housing needed?
- surface area or size of product (volume of water and rate of flow are key)
- how parts of the structure are held together
- if and how the system may effect a location or environment
Individual Design Brief:
Design and produce the structure of a water filtration system that will house and contain the filtration system and the purified water so that the product can be used by the people inhabiting an impoverished area where clean water is scarce and necessary to survival.Specifications:
- structure must support water filtration system
- structure must house filtration system
- materials must be cost-efficient, durable and strong
- materials can't be heavy
- system must stand steadily
- system must to open so that filters can be cleaned/replaced
- structure must have long life expectancy
Limitations:
- filtration system must function properly in structure and housing
- system can't be too big or bulky, can't take up a large amount of space
- cost efficiency shouldn't affect material performance
- structure can't be made of a heavy material
- filters should be easily accessible to be cleaned/replaced
- structure can't corrode, rust, soften, etc.
- structure must exhibit an aspect of nature
structure must "house"
ReplyDeleteappropriate size is vague
can't be made is a limitation
Add the prompt, "solution is limited to:" and reword your entries, you will then see that some of them might be specs.
Try writing limits for each spec you list.
